Deep, low-error baseline tennis is precisely the profile that asks a first-strike player to produce the same shot four times a point.
Where the price has drifted from the evidence
Zheng's forehand down the line can still end rallies, but her return timing was poor in Toronto and her serve has reopened matches she had already won. Against an opponent who refuses to donate points, that becomes a long afternoon.
The market is paying for a version of Zheng that has not been on court for a while. At this number the value sits firmly with the teenager.
